This painting was inspired by the pathworking of Vav, the path of the hierophant on the tree of life.  The tree of life is the central focus of Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism. It is the path that extends between Chesed, the expansion of the manifestation of higher love, and Chokmah, the wisdom and life force that emerges from the cosmos; it is the divine power of creation. The Hebrew letter Vav signifies the instrument of binding, weaving or knitting together so that two things become one. Western Esoteric traditions attribute to this letter the patterns of Taurus and Venus. Vav in this context relates to the process of shifting to a supernal consciousness or crossing the abyss.
